Grade 3 Drum Kit Work Book.

Welcome to the 3rd work book for drum kit.
At this stage, we focus on techniques, beats and fills that will help you reach a standard that is a starting point for GCSE or similar and introduces new styles of music.
Drum beats will now include drums being hit in between the hi hats with plenty of syncopation throughout this book.
Your hi hat foot will be more involved, using it as a pulse or as open-close technique to create chokes.
New rudiments will be introduced as rudiments on their own, as beats and as fills.
It will look at developing a rudiment into a phrase that sounds impressive and is useful to use generally.
As with the other work book in the series, it is open to interpretation which as a result will help you create your own style of playing or allow your teachers to put their own thoughts in to it. There is also plenty of opportunities in the 'conclusions' to progress further on the subject at hand.
Once again, be open minded, take lots of suggestions on how to play something on board and do what works best for you. Try out many combinations of how to succeed in what you are learning before you get to that thought process of you knowing what you are doing is the best option for you.
